3:00 PM  An Afternoon with Michael Lantieri The Academy Award Winning Special Effects Supervisor of Jurassic Park

Hosted by Matt Bailey

In the late nineteenth century a French stage magician named George Melies would revolutionize early cinema as the Father of Movie Special Effects. From those early moments in movies (check out his masterpiece A Trip to the Moon) until now the artisans of Special Effects have scaled great heights and given us some of the most memorable moments of movie going magic. None more so than Michael Lantieri!

His Filmography is astounding and just to name a few: Westworld on HBO, Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade, Wild Wild West, Mars Attacks, Land of the Lost, Hook, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Get Smart: The Movie, Pirates of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, and work on the ride itself at Disneyland, Back to The Future II and III and so much more!

However it was a movie where his love for puppetry, animatronics, and dinosaurs would allow his work to sparkle. (After all he considers himself a puppeteer, albeit on a large scale.) It would garner him an Academy Award for Special Effects on Jurassic Park! Come meet the very down to earth, Michael Lantieri! Be inspired by his creativity, and learn how he is just like you in his drive to put on the best show he can!
